DANCE of the WHITE TIGER

CHALLENGE: Create a female-led action/drama that avoids victim narratives + action clichés while authentically exploring identity, grief, family, sexuality, cultural displacement, and self-worth.

NARRATIVE PROBLEM: Many "strong female character" stories confuse strength with invulnerability ie: Mary Sue-ism.
I wanted to craft a protagonist who is powerful, flawed, self-destructive, emotionally wounded, and deeply HUMAN all at once.

CREATIVE SOLUTION: Nicola's journey is built around contradiction. She is physically fearless but emotionally guarded. Hyper-independent but desperate for belonging.
Capable of violence yet starving for connection.

The Thailand setting becomes more than a backdrop - it serves as a MIRROR forcing her to confront family, heritage, and the parts of herself she has spent years outrunning.
